Families with children, in a group or as a couple, many mountain activities to discover the Pyrenees from different angles are accessible.

For several activities, we work with local guides. With pleasure, we introduce them to you, to help you organize your activities!

Cycling, motorcycling & mountain biking

Several legendary passes of the ‘Tour de France’ are located very close to Maison Fouga! Just 2 km away, the Col d’Aspin awaits you. But there is also the Peyresourdes, the Tourmalet, the Plat d’Adet, the Col d’Azet and the Hourquette d’Ancizan to climb. It takes courage to climb, but it’s worth it! Several times a year, groups of cyclists come to enjoy themselves in our mountains!

It is often the same passes that also attract bikers. But for them, there is also the other side of the Pyrenees, Spain which is worth a detour. Completely different landscapes await you …

To discover the landscapes of our mountains, mountain biking is an activity to recommend! We work together with a guide, who provides you with the equipment, makes you do a few workshops and, depending on your level, offers a ride on the ridges or a descent in the woods.

Hiking

Maison Fouga is located in the heart of the Pyrenees. Marked paths lead you into the heart of nature, where cars no longer pass … splendid lakes, magnificent views, … await you at altitude. Beginners as well as experienced hikers, everyone can find hikes to their taste and level of walking.

The Néouvielle Nature Reserve is worth a recommendation! Lake Oô, Lake Badet, the rioumajou valley, … will undoubtedly delight you! And there is also the Spanish side offering magnificent landscapes.

Canyoning & Rafting

Canyoning is practiced in Spain. Going down the river, doing jumps, natural slides, experiencing nature, … the canyoning guides take you by minibus to Spain for a splendid day. You will discover the most beautiful canyons of the Pyrenees and the Sierra de Guara! And this sport is accessible from 7 years old!

Rafting is practiced on the Neste, very close to the house. It is ideal for those who want to discover this activity. The river is not too rough, but it still provides a rafting experience! Children are welcome. A minibus can pick you up and take you back to Maison Fouga. And for the more sporty (+18 years old) there is the more lively rafting experience in Spain.

High ropes courses & paragliding

Adventure courses for all levels …

For the little ones, there is the ‘forêt suspendu’ in Guchen. Children can climb the trees in complete safety.

For the older ones and adults, the ‘Moudang’ course in Aragnouet offers you plenty of spectacle! Courses above the water of different levels can seduce you …

Flying is a dream and this dream is accessible to all! In a two-seater paraglider, you fly in tandem above the lake of Genos-Loudenvielle. Well settled in your harness, you will discover the Louron valley and its majestic peaks!

Relaxing activities

The Aure Valley and the Louron Valley offer an ideal setting for relaxing activities.

The Balnéa and Sensoria thermal baths offer unforgettable moments of well-being!

In Loudenvielle, next to the lake, is Ludéo, an outdoor swimming pool for adults and children.

Skiing, snowboarding & snowshoeing

In winter, a white blanket transforms the mountain peaks into a magnificent setting! Skiing, snowboarding, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, … are some of the possibilities in winter.

4 Ski areas are located nearby: Saint-Lary-Soulan, Peyragudes, Val Louron and Piau-Engaly. Val Louron is a very family-friendly area, smaller in size, but with a very pleasant atmosphere. Piau-Engaly, is a little further away, but also higher. Saint-Lary-Soulan and Peyragudes have a wide choice of slopes and are about 25 minutes from our home.

The surroundings

Maison Fouga is located in Cadéac. The ‘Tour de Guet’ is a historic tower and offers a beautiful view of the village. Cadéac is 30 km from Spain. It is quite easy to get there by taking the Bielsa tunnel. There, you discover the Spanish Pyrenees with completely different landscapes. The fortified town of Ainsa is worth a visit!

The town of Arreau is 2 km from Cadéac. It is a picturesque place with a beautiful market on Thursday mornings.

Saint-Lary-Soulan is 9 km from Cadéac. The center of this small town is very touristy with its restaurants, sports shops, souvenirs, bars, …

Next to the Aure Valley is the Louron Valley with its Loudenvielle lake.
